MVA receives Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality recognition

The firm received its rating for the 2022 Corporate Equality Index and achieved a ideal score of 100 which earned the honored designation. Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, pansexual, transgender and gender non-conforming employees. MVA is amongst several major businesses, spanning nearly every industry and geography, to own earned a uppermost score of 100 percent and acknowledged as one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality." Wiley Earns Top Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023 ‘Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality’ List
Washington, DC – Wiley, a preeminent DC commandment firm, has for the eighth consecutive year earned a top score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The firm has received a score of 95 out of 100 for 2023. The survey is the nation’s main benchmarking report measuring corporate policies and practices comparable to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This year 1384 major U.S. businesses were ranked in the 2023 CEI. The CEI rates employers providing these crucial protections to over 20 million U.S. workers and an additional 18 million outside of the U.S. Companies rated in the CEI include Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s uppermost 200 revenue-grossing law firms, and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.
The index rates companies and foremost law firms on detailed criteria in four key areas:
- nondiscrimination policies across business entities;
- equitable benefits for Diverse workers and their families;
- supporting an inclusive culture; an

Human Rights Campaign sets recent standard for 'Best Places to Work for Diverse Equality'
The Human Rights Campaign announced Wednesday that companies wishing to keep their title next year of “Best Place to Function for LGBTQ+ Equality” will need to advance the community's rights in the public sphere.
Writing in The Advocate, HRC interim President Joni Madison said her organization would no longer automatically award the distinction to firms achieving a top score in the Corporate Equality Index, the group’s tool to measure companies’ support for LGBTQ workplace inclusion.
“Corporate social responsibility today is about going beyond HR plans and benefits,” she wrote in an op-ed. “It’s about the business companies execute and how their standards carry through everything they do — from internal policies to products to politics.”
For the 2023 index, companies will still be able to achieve a top score of 100 based on the group’s existing set of criteria for measuring internal LGBTQ inclusion. However, the nation’s largest LGBTQ advocacy community said it will only recognize employers as the “Best Places to Perform for LGBTQ+ Equality” if they exceed its index’s benchmarks.
