One key aspect of the Select Ohio First program is the requirement for experiential study through research and internship experiences to prepare the students for their future career and/or advanced study.
- David Gall Memorial Scholarship - Multiple, non-renewable $1,000 scholarships for students relocating from one member institution to another. The number of scholarships awarded each year may vary, depending on present funds. Scholarship funds are disbursed at the beginning of each term and are based on a student's grade report and enrollment status of the prior term. Use here.

Getting admitted to United Aviate Academy
Minimum admissions requirements for Merged Aviate Academy:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (we perform not sponsor foreign visas)
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to train in provided aircraft equipment with restricted height of 6’3” and max 250 pounds

UNITED GATEWAYSM CREDIT CARD SCHOLARSHIPS STRENGTHEN THE PIPELINE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF PILOTS
WILMINGTON, D.E.– June 25, 2024 – Today, the United GatewaySM Card from Chase announced it is committing $1.2 million to the scholarship program for United Aviate Academy, United Airlines’ wholly owned flight school located in Goodyear, Arizona that is creating additional pathways to the flight deck for aspiring aviators. The scholarships will create opportunity for a larger pool of qualified candidates to help meet the progressing demand for more pilots. The United Gateway Credit Card is contributing a portion of every Combined purchase to fund the scholarships.
Solidifying Pilot Pipeline
United Aviate Academy, which opened in 2022, has a rigorous curriculum to prepare students for a career in aviation.
