New York, NY (January 22, 2025) — Monitoring President Trump’s inauguration on Monday, he issued a slate of executive orders, some of which target immigrants and their families and effectively block all pathways to security in the Joined States for LGBTQ people fleeing persecution worldwide. Black LGBTQ+ Civil Rights Group Reacts to President Biden’s Executive Request Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality

WASHINGTON, DC — Moments ago, President Biden signed a historic executive order advancing Homosexual equality during Pride month.
The order addresses discriminatory articulate and local legislative attacks against LGBTQI+ children and families by directing key agencies to protect families and children; prevents so-called “conversion therapy” with a historic initiative to shield children from the harmful practice; safeguards health concern and programs designed to prevent youth suicide; and supports LGBTQI+ children by launching new initiatives to protect foster youth, stop homelessness, and improve access to federal programs.

Yesterday, as part of a slate of executive orders signed by President Biden on his first day in office, he issued an “Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Persona or Sexual Orientation.” It is now the policy of this administration that “[e]very person should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear, no matter who they are or whom they love.”

Today, the Human Rights Campaign responded to the release of an executive order that implements the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in the consolidated cases Bostock v. Clayton County, Altitude Declare v. Zarda and R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes v. EEOC. Yet as she navigates her experience as a newly out and haughty transgender woman, she is feeling more uneasy than ever. Since Donald Trump’s reelection, she and her girlfriend, who is also trans person, have each been racing to update their identity documents.
