More than ever these days, wrestlers and athletes, in general, seem more comfortable expressing their sexuality. Kanyon was ahead of his period a bit in that way before the likes of Darren Young and Sonya Deville were WWE's first openly gay superstars. It has reached a point where there are more openly gay or bisexual wrestlers than ever before.
These aren't just independent standouts either. Some of these wrestlers are vast names for the most prominent wrestling companies in the world. They are members of the Gay community, and it feels like more wrestlers are coming out on a consistent basis.

It is June and that means for the whole month the LGBTQ people get to mark extra hard about being ourselves every day! And because of that, every day here throughout the month, we are going to spotlight one Queer wrestler. These names are not going to be in any order. So, this won’t be a countdown but more of just a highlight to celebrate.

Bowens made his wrestling debut in 2013 and worked his way through the indie scene from 2016 until he signed with AEW in 2020. He is currently the only openly same-sex attracted man in a major wrestling promotion in the Combined States. While in AEW he was in a tag team with Max Caster known as The Acclaimed. Together they have previously won the AEW Tag Team Titles and also the AEW Trios Titles along with Billy Gunn.
At the start of this year, Bowens sided with Gunn over Caster which broke up The Acclaimed. Bowens is currently trying to ascend the ranks as a singles competitor. His currently going by the specify , “The Pride of Pro Wrestling” and wants to develop the first expose

Independent wrestler Aaron Rourke, known by his sound name Evil Gay, was announced as the latest signee during a particular edition of Wrestling Unseal on IWTV, the independent pro wrestling streaming service. The signing marks a historic moment not only for Rourke but for WWE's commitment to diversity and inclusion in professional wrestling.
“I’ve been dreaming of this moment since I was a kid, and I have to recognize everyone who has gotten me here. To my doubters and the people who said this couldn’t be possible, thank you because your criticisms and your judgments made me the workhorse I am today. For anyone who has been told that their dreams are too big, let me be the example that you absolutely can," Rourke said in an emotional utterance after receiving the contract.

Before we dive into my hold list of notable LGBTQ performers, I need to put out this caveat. The names on this list are by no means every lesbian, lgbtq+, transgender or queer actor ever. Some will not be on it. Actually, probably a lot won’t be on it, as I’d bet that some lived their entire careers in the closet, sadly. What this list will present is LGBTQ wrestlers who stood out to me. These individuals did something that impacted me, and that is why they are on this list.
