What does bisexual mean?
In simplest terms, a bisexual person is someone who can be attracted to more than one gender; but adults and youth who spot as bisexual sometimes portray themselves differently. Many multi-attracted adults have embraced the definition proposed by longtime bisexual leader, national speaker and award-winning activist Robyn Ochs:
"I call myself attracted to both genders because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted - romantically and/or sexually - to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the alike time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree."
This broad definition of bisexuality includes people who identify as pansexual, queer, fluid and other labels that suggest potential attraction to more than one gender.
How many people are bisexual?
According to the Williams Institute and the HRC Foundation's own study, studies suggest that about 50 percent of people who identify as either gay, lesbian or bi, identify as bisexual. This makes the bisexual population the single largest organization within the LGBTQ+ community.
Can a transgender person also be bisexual?

Despite comprising more than half of the female homosexual, gay, and bisexual society, bisexual people are under-reported or poorly reported by media, erasing their presence as well as their specific experiences and challenges, leading many people who are bisexual to undergo misunderstood and isolated.

An adjective used to describe a person who has the potential to be physically, romantically, and/or emotionally attracted to people of more than one gender, not necessarily at the same occasion, in the same way, or to the matching degree. The bi in bisexual refers to genders the same as and different from one’s retain gender. Do not record or imply that bi means being attracted to men and women. There are few questions asked quite as much as: what's the difference between being bisexual and pansexual?
And it’s not just bewildered outsiders or boomers asking it. It’s people questioning themselves, and people who identify as one of the two. And today we're going to dive into it!
First: what accomplish bi and pan mean?
BISEXUAL means being attracted to the gender the identical as your own, AND to other genders. Some people use it to mean "attracted to two or more genders".
A lot of people assume that BI-(meaning two)-sexual means is that bisexuals don’t realize non-binary people exist, or are never attracted to non-binary people, or completely discount trans people. You heard it here pals: that isn't the case.
While some people might apply bi to mean they only like girls and boys, that isn’t a universal definition.
PANSEXUAL however, means attracted to (or has the potential to be attracted to) people of ALL genders. Binary or not.
Some people use the word pansexual to be specifically inclusive of transsexual people, but keep in mind that trans people aren't their own separate category. Because "trans" in and of itself isn't a gender. It's a descriptor of how you experience your gender.
What Does It Imply to Be Bi or Bisexual?
