Why do i like gay movies

Last month, the BBC offered an apology of sorts after a red-carpet journalist at the Baftas asked Andrew Scott, star of the film All of Us Strangers, about fellow Irish star Barry Keoghan’s appendage. This had been the subject of conversation thanks to Keoghan’s naked dancing in the clip, Saltburn, in which Keoghan’s floppy bishop steals the ultimate scene. To settle this nagging concern the BBC turned to a gay dude. ‘There was a lot of communicate about prosthetics. How well do you know him?’ the reporter asked an annoyed Scott who shook his chief and walked away.

The gynarchy has made clear that objectifying men is perfectly fine

Had a female actress been asked to prove another woman’s breasts, the scandal that would have ensued goes without mentioning, but the BBC dusted it off. ‘Our question to Andrew Scott was meant to be a light-hearted reflection of the discussion around the scene and was not intended to lead to offence,’ the organisation said.

Gay Movies with Happy Endings: Adorable Characters, Lovable Stories, and a HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Trying to find a feel-good "gay" movie to view is like playing a game of Russian Roulette with your soul, and I think that's shitty: There's a difference between a "gay drama", an "important gay movie", a "gay romance", and a "gay rom-com"... and I'm here to celebrate the latter two!

Every movie in this list is, SPOILER ALERT, guaranteed to conclusion happily, with the two leads living happily-ever-after.

I fancy romance movies, and I'm not apologizing for it! Because sometimes it's essential to know, when you decide to watch a movie, that the lovable couple you're giddy for isn't going to be shattered by horrible death or separated forever in lonely despair by the time the credits roll.

Alas, in gay cinema, our most-mainstream movie ends with our protagonist sniffing the jacket of a gentleman who was tire-ironed to death on the side of a freeway; our most critically-lauded flick ends with our star-crossed lovers hurtling themselves to their

Love, Simon (2018)

If it feels a bit like a CW version of an after-school special, that's no mistake: Teen-tv super-producer Greg Berlanti makes his feature-film directorial debut here. It's as chaste a love story as you're likely to see in the 21st century—the hunky gardener who makes the title teen question his sexuality is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, for God’s sake—but you know what? The queer kids of the future need their wholesome entertainment, too.

A gay fantasia on Elton themes. An Elton John biopic was never going to be understated, but this glittering jukebox musical goes way over the top and then keeps going. It might be an overcorrection from the straight-washing of the previous year's Bohemian Rhapsody, but when it's this much fun, it's best not to overthink it.

The Gayest Movies That Aren’t Actually Gay, from ‘Barbie’ and ‘Burlesque’ to ‘Venom’ and ‘Road House’

  • ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (1939)

What it is: If you’ve been living under a Kansas farm dropped on you by a twister and need an explainer, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is MGM’s iconic musical adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s manual, starring Judy Garland as a prairie girl exploring a magical world of adventure.

Why it’s gay: Well, consider how ‘Friend of Dorothy’ is a widespread slang term for lgbtq+ men and that should be sufficient explanation. But if you need more convincing, ‘The Wizard of Oz’s’ campy, colorful musical story has long been interpreted through a lgbtq+ lens, as a metaphor for LGBT people who venture outside of black-and-white middle America for male lover communities in cities fancy New York or San Francisco. There are so many moments and characters in the film that come across now as unintentional nods to the queer

When no one is looking, many women are watching gay porn

Back in 2015, the wildly popular online pornography site Pornhub — which boasts over 115 million daily views — published a finding that took sexuality researcher Lucy Neville by surprise: Women are responsible for more than a third of the site’s gay male porn views.

The finding planted the seed for what would eventually become a book, “Girls Who Love Boys Who Like Boys,” which was published earlier this month. In it, Neville, a lecturer at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, investigates what women relax about consuming gay male erotica and how it fits in with their perceptions of gender and sexuality.

"They are definitely objectifying women and not treating them like people," Christina said of straight porn. "A lot of the time it seems fancy the women aren't actually enjoying it."

Neville interviewed and surveyed more than 500 women over five years for the project. Many of the women with whom she spoke said “a lot of the problem they have with heterosexual porn is that they focus on the female body" without paying enough attention to men.
