Nickelodeon confirmed that Spongebob is part of the Homosexual community

SpongeBob is canonically “somewhat asexual”, as Stephen Hillenburg put it, and if anything is proved by Nickelodeon’s post, it’s that SpongeBob is notstraight. Right? Because heterosexual is not a part of the LGBTQ+ community. Also, he can be asexual and still have romantic feelings for people. How about homoromantic, biromantic, panromantic...?
I’ve been in my room literally squealing for the past 20 minutes over Nickelodeon announcing SpongeBob as somewhere in the LGBTQ and for some reason it makes me so happy!! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t shedding a not many tears over my treasure for my little infant. I call him my little gay baby; I’m not toofar off.

OH MY NEPTUNE - I LOVE SPONGEBOB SO MUCH

Edit: I reflect Nickelodeon was doing this for attention, by disappearing SpongeBob’s sexuality almost ambiguous. If he’s “somewhat asexual”, at least give him the asexual flag. Also, why do we demand sexuality representation everywhere? This is a children’s show, and I personally think SpongeBob works better as a coded gay character.
We should save sexuality for shipping if it’s not a big part

LGBTQ Themes and Undertones in SpongeBob SquarePants

David Ayala

The cartoon show SpongeBob SquarePants has, for almost two decades, fazed youthful children and teens alike. Its unusual form of comedy and humor has appealed to many age demographics. Critics have referred to the show as “charming and whimsical, but clever enough to appeal to teens and college-aged kids.” Despite its prolonged run success, SpongeBob has not been without its controversies. These take shape mainly due to the uncertain sexual orientation of the title character. Despite not intended to undertake so, the show often mirrors themes and undertones that sympathize with the LGBTQ cause, even before the cause was becoming more acceptable. These, however, take the form of exaggerated LGBTQ stereotypes. The controversy also resulted due to the fact that the show was aimed at children. The doubt that will be answered in this analysis is whether the show intends to display its understanding to the LGBTQ bring about, albeit in a subliminal way, and does the audience, in this case children, are affected by the exposure of this.

Among the many questions on the internet, one that has stood the assess of time is about the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants’ sexuality. A lot of people desire to know and now we contain the answer.

On June 13, Nickelodeon confirmed in a tweet celebrating Celebration month that yes, SpongeBob is part of the LGBTQ community.

In the post, Nickelodeon included a photo of SpongeBob, alongside the titular character of the show The Legend of Korra, who is bisexual, and trans star Michael D. Cohen, from the entertainment Henry Danger.

While this is the first time for Nickelodeon to approve SpongeBob’s sexuality, it was hardly a surprise to fans.

While many consider that this means SpongeBob is lgbtq+, some see the post as a confirmation of SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg’s earlier statement that the character is asexual.

“We never intended them to be queer . I consider them (SpongeBob and Patrick) to be almost asexual,” Hillenburg told Reuters, according to a People article in 2005. This was after Christian groups accused Nickelodeon of promoting the gay lifestyle when a gay rights organisation sponsored a pro-diversity video starring SpongeBob.

Nickelodeon Just Announced That SpongeBob SquarePants Is Gay

In news that will perhaps be unsurprising to many, Nickelodeon just appeared to make the announcement that the beloved children's TV character SpongeBob SquarePants is a arrogant member of the LGBTQ+ community.

The network marked Pride month with a send on Twitter, stating that it was "Celebrating #Pride with the LGBTQ+ people and their allies this month and every month," accompanied by artwork of SpongeBob, Schwoz Schwartz from Henry Danger, and Korra from Avatar: The Legend of Korra, all in rainbow-tinted hues.

Korra is canonically gay within the society of Avatar, having embarked on an explicitly romantic on-screen relationship with her best friend, Asami Sato. It is unclear, however, whether Nickelodeon were referring to the "community" or "allies" when it came to those pictures of Schwoz and SpongeBob — but the internet has already made up its mind that after 20 years of iconically camp conduct, S.B. is finally, officially out of the closet.

SpongeBob SquarePants started airing in 1999, and has become known for its mix of surrealism and slapstick humor. Several moment

Will Spongebob make you gay?

First it was the spate of the SpongeBob loot jobs from local Burger Kings. Now the small yellow guy who lives in a pineapple under the sea is at the center of a far grimmer controversy, again not of his have making. Two conservative Christian groups attacking the cartoon character for allegedly creature part of, as one of them put it, a "pro-homosexual video."

A man named Dr. James Dobson, founder of a conservative Christian group called "Focus on the Family" addressed members of Congress at a black tie dinner in Washington celebrating the president's election victory this week.  He advised the group that SpongeBob had been included in a pro-homosexual video which was to be mailed to thousands of elementary schools to push a tolerance pledge by kids, including tolerance of differences of what Dr. Dobson called "sexual identity."  Dr. Dobson said most of the favorite cartoons of America's kids were in on the plot, Barney and Jimmy Neutron included.

There is a video. It was broadcast in 2002 and has been revised for distribution to schools in March. It does promote tolerance of diversity, but contains no reference to sex, sexual lifestyle, sexual
